Despite Industry 4.0, wiring has not become easier, but rather has become even more complex due to the requirements. A solution that is becoming increasingly important in simplifying the processes in control cabinet construction is pre-assembled cables. On the one hand, this makes work in control cabinet construction faster and easier. On the other hand, a new problem also arises: “How does the plug get into the control cabinet?” A traditional cable gland, which is installed through an easy-to-place hole in the control cabinet housing, cannot meet this modern requirement.

Of course, you can also easily insert the cables through an adjustable foam plate in the bottom of the control cabinet. However, that no longer quite meets the quality standards in the 21st century, does it? In other words, with such a solution, the control cabinet no longer even complies with protection class IP 54. At best, simple contact protection is still guaranteed. The control becomes dirty, the components become increasingly hot and the service life becomes significantly shorter.
The solution is obvious
The innovative cable entries combine quick, water- and dust-tight installation with the option of inserting pre-assembled cables into the housing. Protection classes up to IP 66 are achieved with these systems. The mounting frame of such a cable entry is screwed tightly to the housing or simply clipped in. The cables are then inserted through the sealing elements in just a few steps. Subsequent changes to the cable management are no longer a problem. This is control cabinet construction 4.0, no question about it. This means that efficient cable management with pre-assembled cables and high-quality control cabinet construction are compatible.
Never drill holes in control cabinets again
So far so good. However, these products cannot be installed with a simple drilling. The hole patterns are more complex and no longer so easy to install in the electrical workshop. This is not necessary if you configure and order the already customized control cabinet with just a few clicks on the Internet. With the cloud software ARMARiO it is child's play to place these holes with the virtual models of the cable entries. At the same time, incorrectly placed holes are a thing of the past because plausibility is verified in real time. If you need even more planning security, you can also plan one or two blind plates from the manufacturer and make provisions for eventualities during commissioning.
